Cray XC30 Supercomputer

The Cray XC30 series marks the first time Cray is using industry-leading Intel® Xeon® processors in a high-end supercomputer line, scaling in excess of 1 million cores.

Enabled by a robust Intel Xeon processor road map, Aries high performance interconnect and flexible Dragonfly network topology, the Cray XC30 supercomputer provides the low latency and scalable global bandwidth to satisfy the most challenging multi-petaflop applications. Its architecture implements two processor engines per compute node and has four compute nodes per blade. Compute blades stack in eight pairs (16 to a chassis) and each cabinet can be populated with up to three chassis.

Today, the Intel Xeon processors can provide up to 3,072 cores and enable 66 teraflops of performance per cabinet. Future processor upgrades will boost clock frequency and bump the number of embedded cores, accelerating overall system performance. The open architecture of the Cray XC30 series offers intranode flexibility, empowering users with the option to run applications with either scalar or accelerator processing elements depending on their requirements for parallelism.

Cray CS300-AC Cluster Supercomputer

The Cray CS300-AC cluster supercomputer is an energy-efficient, air-cooled system featuring two Intel® Xeon® processors and a combination option for Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessors for industry-leading high performance, high availability computing.

Mixed-flow fans provide energy savings and noise reduction and an optional 480V power distribution and choice of 208V or 277V 3-phase power supplies decrease datacenter energy costs. Flexible configuration options using chilled cooling rear door heat exchangers lower the total cost of ownership. And the tightly integrated Advanced Cluster Engine (ACE) management suite offers built-in software management with monitoring and reporting.

Cray CS300-LC Cluster Supercomputer

The Cray CS300-LC cluster supercomputer is a high performance, liquid-cooled solution that uses warm water heat exchangers with no chillers, reducing the typical energy consumption for datacenter cooling by 50 percent. It offers three times more energy efficiency per rack over traditional air-cooled designs and produces 80 percent heat capture for possible reuse.

Each system features the Intel® Xeon® processor with a combination option for Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessors and is tightly integrated with the Advanced Cluster Engine (ACE) management software suite with monitoring and reporting.
