Cray® CS™ Series Cluster Supercomputers

Cray CS300-AC Cluster Supercomputer

The Cray® CS400-AC™ cluster supercomputer is an energy-efficient, air-cooled system featuring two Intel Xeon processors and a combination option for Intel® Xeon Phi™ coprocessors for industry-leading high performance, high availability computing.

The Cray® CS400-LC™ system is a high performance, liquid-cooled solution that uses warm water heat exchangers with no chillers, reducing the typical energy consumption for datacenter cooling by 50 percent. It offers three times more energy efficiency per rack over traditional air-cooled designs and produces 80 percent heat capture for possible reuse.

Cray’s CS-Storm cluster is an accelerator-optimized system that consists of multiple high-density multi-GPU server nodes, designed for massively parallel computing workloads. Each CS-Storm cluster rack can hold up to 22 2U rackmount server nodes. Each server integrates eight accelerators and two Intel Xeon processors, delivering 246 GPU teraflops of compute performance in one 48U rack.

Cray XK7 Supercomputer

The Cray® XK7™ supercomputer combines scalar, network and many-core innovation to create a true, productive hybrid supercomputer.

With the proven Gemini interconnect, AMD Opteron™ 6200 Series processors and NVIDIA® Tesla® K20 GPU Accelerator, the Cray XK7 compute node has the intranode scalability, power efficiency of acceleration and flexibility to run applications with either scalar or accelerator components. This compute unit, combined with the inter-node scalability of the Gemini interconnect, creates a system equal to any computing challenge.

Additionally, many-core processing means increased energy efficiency. Applications using the Cray XK7 GPU processors deliver industry-leading energy efficiency when measured for real application workloads.
