Cray User Group

Cray User GroupThe Cray User Group (CUG) is an independent, volunteer organized, international corporation of member organizations that own or use Cray Inc. computer systems with emphasis on high-end performance, technical computing and visualization. CUG’s mission is to provide leadership and information exchange to enable the development and effective use of high performance computing assets, tools, and resources in achieving the business and research objectives of CUG members.

CUG conferences have been held all over the world including Germany, Spain, Japan, UK, Switzerland, France, Canada, and many cities in the US. Over 50 major conferences have been held since the origin of CUG in 1978.

What is CUG?

CUG 2013 Annual Meeting

The annual Cray User Group meeting, CUG 2013, will take place May 6-9 in Napa Valley, California, hosted by The National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC).

The conference theme, "A New Vintage of Computing," reflects the newest crop of multi-core and many-core computing systems, as well as the growing impact of high end computing. Understanding the climate's impact on agriculture, developing new crops to fuel economic growth, and analyzing carbon mitigation techniques are just a few of many new and fertile areas that can benefit from computationally driven advances in climate, genetics and systems biology.
