Cray® CS400™ Cluster Supercomputer Software

The Cray® CS400-AC™ cluster supercomputer offers two key productivity-boosting tools — a customizable HPC cluster software stack and Advanced Cluster Engine (ACE™) system management software.


The HPC cluster software stack consists of validated and tested software tools including operating systems, middleware applications and management, and HPC programming tools. All are compatible with most open source and commercial compilers, debuggers, schedulers and libraries. Also available as part of the software stack are the Cray Programming Environment, Cray Scientific and Math Libraries, and Cray Performance Measurement and Analysis Tools.

ACE system management software provides extremely scalable network, server, cluster and storage management capabilities for easy system administration and maintenance. It uses a three-tiered architecture for operating system (OS) provisioning tasks as well as node monitoring and maintenance. This structure allows for the CS400 system to scale to hundreds or even thousands of nodes without affecting its ability to prepare a single node or the entire system in as little as three minutes.

Command line (CLI) and graphical user interface (GUI) options provide flexibility for the cluster administrator. An easy-to-use ACE GUI connects directly to the ACE Daemon on the management server and can be executed on a remote system running Linux, Windows or Mac OS.
