It’s A Wrap

And another successful SC conference comes to a close. We had a fabulous week at SC13 with a busy booth and even busier briefing rooms. It all started off with a bang on Monday night with the unveiling of our new booth where we served up free Colorado microbrews and celebrated another year of new faces, new products, and new customers. Visitors to our exhibit were met with more racks of computing, storage, and analytics products than ever before.

This year, Cray and three of our staff members were recognized in a special silver anniversary ceremony recognizing companies and individuals who have participated in all 25 annual SC conferences. Also in honor of this special anniversary we displayed an historic Cray-1 module and a life-size mural of Seymour Cray in our booth. It was fun to see people taking their photo with Seymour.

On Monday night Cray received a “triple crown” from Tabor Communications. SC13 marked the 10th anniversary of the HPCwire awards and the 10th straight year we’ve received one or more awards. And this year we received a record-breaking 10 awards!

As for the rest of the week, some of the Cray contingent never saw the light of day with back-to-back presentations in our briefing rooms from early morning until dinnertime. But it was exciting to see so many people interested in learning more about where we’re going and what we have to offer.

Tuesday marked the start of our Discovery Challenge social media contest. Thanks to everyone who participated. It was great to see pics from our customers’ booths on the Twitter feed.  We hope you had some fun and enjoy your gift card.

On Thursday we concluded another successful show — packed up the booth, closed down the briefing rooms, and flew back to our offices around the world.  If you weren’t able to come to the show this year, join Cray’s Barry Bolding for a virtual tour.  And we hope to see you next year in New Orleans.
