Cray is a global company with employees located worldwide
Our headquarters are in Seattle, Washington, and we have additional engineering and manufacturing facilities in California, Minnesota, Texas, Wisconsin and the United Kingdom. Like our customers, our sales and service offices span the globe.
So what do we do exactly? Our business is supercomputing — developing, building and supporting computer systems that help solve problems and answer questions that would be impossible to address otherwise.
Within that directive, our business is broken into three product lines — supercomputers, data storage systems and data analytics solutions. Simply put, all three technologies are essential to supercomputing today. We sell them individually or integrated into a complete solution, depending on each customer’s needs.
Building the world’s best supercomputer technologies requires hardware, software and support professionals at all levels. Search our opportunities now.

Cray’s company headquarters are in Seattle, Washington. We’re in the heart of downtown next to the famous Seattle Public Library and a few blocks from the even more famous Pike Place Market and Seattle waterfront. Here you’ll find all of our administrative offices as well as many of our software and hardware engineers. And it’s true what everyone says — coffee really is on every corner.
We’ve been a part of Minnesota since founder Seymour Cray established the company’s business headquarters here in 1973. Bloomington is now home to our largest R&D group. We’re located at state-of-the-art Offices @ MOA at the Mall of America. From our home here, you’re right in the middle of the largest shopping, dining and entertainment complex in the U.S. and are within minutes of the art, theater, NHL hockey, greenways, and lakes of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area. We’ve asked many of our employees, “If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?” And our Minnesotans seem to always answer, “Here.”
Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin, is where it all started. Cray Research (the company’s original name) opened for business here in 1972. Today, this beautiful and historic river city in northern Wisconsin is where the majority of our manufacturing happens. We have two facilities here that can produce our entire line of products. But when we’re not thinking about supercomputers, we’re outside enjoying the area’s rivers, lakes and trails — all year long.
We have an R&D group in austin working on board engineering, ASIC design, system engineering, firmware development and design verification. Our office is about 15 minutes from downtown and the heart of Austin’s famed music and dining scene.
Most of our data analytics product development and sales happens out of our Pleasanton office. Located on the “sunny side” of the San Francisco Bay Area, Pleasanton consistently ranks among the best cities to live in the U.S. From here you can easily access everything the famous Bay Area has to offer.
Our team in San Jose works primarily on our cluster supercomputing technologies. We’re located in north San Jose just a short drive from downtown and a short walk from the airport. The city itself is in the middle of the “bays,” making day trips to San Francisco or Santa Cruz (surf, anyone?) easy. San Jose is a tech incubator and the “capital” of Silicon Valley — its residents have produced more patents than any other U.S. city. Plus, the weather is just about always sunny.
Bristol is home to our EMEA headquarters and EMEA sales, service, training and operations, and it’s an important development site for worldwide R&D initiatives. This historic port city’s offerings range from a booming high-tech industry to medieval architecture to an always-packed arts and culture schedule. Even more, Bristol residents enjoy 450 parks — the most per capita anywhere in the country — and the title of the U.K.’s most sustainable city.
Talent is everywhere. We firmly believe the right work environment can foster innovation, and geography shouldn’t block the perfect match. We offer opportunities to work remotely. Let us hear from you.
