Cascade
The Cascade program receives funding under the High Productivity Computing Systems (HPCS) program sponsored by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA). The goal of the HPCS program is to provide economically viable high productivity computing systems for the government and industrial user communities in the 2010 timeframe. The Cascade team is led by Steve Scott, Cray's Chief Technology Officer. Cascade-Related Sites Chapel Chapel, a parallel programming language being developed as part of the Cray Cascade project, strives to improve the programmability of parallel computers in general and the Cascade system in particular by providing a higher level of expression than current parallel languages do and by improving the separation between algorithmic expression and data structure implementation details. |
