Cray Storage Solutions: CASA Partners
Cray works closely with several carefully selected CASA partners to deliver and support a range of storage hardware and software products to meet customer requirements across Cray's full product line. These partners and products include: BlueArc Corporation Cray sells BlueArc's Titan 2000 series of scalable network attached storage (NAS) systems, which provide shared storage for Cray and other systems in a customer's data center. Cluster File Systems, Inc. (CFS) Cray uses the Lustre file system, developed and supported by CFS, to provide customers with a high-performance scalable file system for Cray XT4, Cray XT3, and Cray XD1 systems. Cray has an established, deep working relationship with CFS that includes long-term development and support agreements. DataDirect Networks, Inc. (DDN) Cray sells and supports selected DDN disk storage systems. Cray uses DDN S2A9550 and S2A8500 disk storage systems for Cray XT4, Cray XT3, and large Cray XD1 systems with applications requiring very high bandwidth. LSI Logic Corporation Cray sells and supports a variety of LSI's Engenio disk storage systems. This includes the Engenio 6998 and Engenio 3992 arrays, which provide customers with a range of options in terms of performance, disk technologies, and price points. These products are currently used with all Cray systems. Neterion, Inc. Cray sells and supports Neterion Xframe adapters for 10 Gigabit Ethernet, for use with all Cray systems. QLogic Corporation Cray sells and supports Fibre Channel switches from QLogic for use with all Cray systems. Quantum Corporation Cray sells and supports Quantum's StorNext data management software and sells Quantum's Scalar tape libraries. The StorNext File System provides customers with a heterogeneous SAN-based global file system, and the StorNext Storage Manager provides policy-based data archival and hierarchical storage management (HSM) capabilities. Quantum's Scalar series of tape libraries provides both midrange and enterprise-class tape solutions based on LTO drive technologies. |
