“Spectre” and “Meltdown” Processor Vulnerabilities

Recent news reports have detailed the “Spectre” and “Meltdown” processor vulnerabilities uncovered by Google’s Project Zero team.

We are actively working with our suppliers to gather more information and are obtaining updates as they address these vulnerabilities. As part of our standard development processes, we are integrating and testing these updates, and once our development and testing processes are completed, we will begin to release them to our customers.

While the full extent and impact of the vulnerabilities are unknown at this time, we will continue to provide Cray customers with detailed information and updates as quickly as possible. Cray service teams work directly with our customers and are providing regular communications. If you are a Cray customer, please reach out to your Cray support team for more details.

We recommend maintaining good security practices to limit exposure to this vulnerability and any other vulnerabilities that might arise in the future.
